Transportation Manager, Inbound Logistics

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Icelandic Provisions is seeking a Transportation Manager to own inbound logistics for our dairy (skyr) and non-dairy (oat-based) product lines. This role works alongside our Outbound Transportation Manager, who owns finished goods distribution to customers.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building tight, reliable processes with suppliers and co-manufacturing partners, and who's comfortable being the connective tissue between our co-man relationships, and warehouse operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own inbound transportation, including deployment of finished goods from co-manufacturing partners into distribution centers
• Manage inbound carrier relationships and scheduling, including dock/receiving coordination with copackers and 3PL warehouse partners
• Maintain cold chain integrity on all inbound cold shipments
• Partner closely with co-manufacturing partners on shipment scheduling and customs documentation
• Own reconciliation of co-manufacturer invoices against warehouse receipts ensuring inbound quantities match what's recorded in NetSuite
• Maintain accurate inbound shipment and inventory status in NetSuite; investigate and resolve discrepancies with warehouse/3PL partners
• Manage EDI transaction flows with suppliers and co-manufacturing partners
• Track and report on inbound transportation KPIs (on-time receipt, truck utilization, inbound freight cost, receiving discrepancy rate)
• Serve as the primary escalation point for inbound shipment/receiving delays or discrepancies
• Coordinate with the Outbound Transportation Manager on any shipment or inventory issue that spans both inbound and outbound (e.g., a receiving delay that affects outbound fulfillment commitments)
• Act as a key member of the team to assist with network strategy and implementation of new 3pl warehouses
• Continuously review and onboard new carriers as needed
• Help manage the EDI flow between co-manufacturers and our 3PL partners
• Actively manage claims for the Inbound transportation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years in transportation/logistics, ideally including inbound/supplier-side freight or co-manufacturing logistics
• Experience with cold chain or perishable goods logistics strongly preferred
• Comfortable owning reconciliation-style detail work (matching invoices, receipts, and system records) in addition to day-to-day logistics
• Familiarity with ERP (Netsuite preferred), TMS systems, and EDI transaction sets
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
• Comfortable operating with a fair amount of ambiguity as this function scales
