Strawberries & Cream Skyr Toast

Ingredients

Slices of any soft bread of your choice
1/2 container
Icelandic Provisions Strawberries & Cream Skyr
1
Egg yolk
1/4 Teaspoon
Vanilla Extract
Pinch of salt
Fresh strawberries and powdered sugar
to garnish
Recipe
Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Cut your bread into your desired shape.
Step 2:
Leaving a slight gap, press the center of the bread with the back of your spoon or your fingers.
Step 3:
Place the bread onto a bake safe tray lined with parchment. Set aside.
Step 4:
In a separate bowl prepare the custard filling by combining the Strawberries & Cream skyr, egg yolk, vanilla extract and salt. Whisk until fully combined.
Step 5:
Spoon about a teaspoon or two of the custard filling into the center of each bread slice. Depending on the shape of your bread and how much of the center is pressed you can add more skyr custard filling.
Step 6:
Bake the toasts in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until the custard center is no longer jiggly.
Step 7:
Top the baked custard skyr toasties with fresh chopped strawberries, a little bit of powdered sugar or freeze dried strawberry powder. Enjoy!
